Volunteer Work with Big Brothers Big Sister Hawaii
During this challenging time, volunteerism and serving those in need is more essential than ever.
I’ve had the honor of volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii for the past 4 years, serving as vice-chair of the organization’s statewide board.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai‘i supports children ages 6-18 years old who have faced adversity in their young lives and experienced the loss of a valuable connection.
I have personally seen the hardships that kids face when they don’t have an adult role model in their lives. The impact of a positive role model is huge. All you have to do is listen to one kid tell you their story and how their Big Brother or Sister helped them and I promise you, you will become passionate, too.
I have been very fortunate in my life and feel a great sense of pride to be able to give back to the community. Whether that is volunteering my time or helping financially or many times both.
In this great country we live in, there is still tremendous need at so many levels. Individuals can make a huge difference, but the real difference makers are the companies in the community. Companies like ours can make major impacts financially, as well as by supporting their staff when they volunteer.
Thanks to all of you who give back to our community, whether its coaching youth athletics or donating your time or money to a charitable organization. If you want to learn more about Big Brothers/Big Sisters Hawaii, just go to BBBShawaii.org.
