The DTRIC Cares team holds a Garden Party with AINA in Schools, a program of Kokua Hawaii Foundation, as part of Nuuanu Elementary School’s Campus Beautification Day!
We planted 15 fruit trees for the students to enjoy. The variety included ulu, lemon, wax jambu, soursop, Surinam cherry, marang and mountain apple.
We also worked on an irrigation system, so that the trees will have a healthy supply of water as they grow. Mahalo to Kokua Hawaii Foundation and Nuuanu Elementary for this fun and engaging opportunity to learn about gardening and support the use of locally-grown produce in school meals and snacks for our keiki!
